Founded in 2001 Manhasset Crew has established itself as a premier rowing club located on Long Island's North Shore. Currently, the team trains out of a three bay boathouse located in Port Washington, NY. On any given year the team has ~100 middle to high school athletes on its roster. Over the last 22 years, Manhasset boats have claimed over 40 state championships and 10 national championships. Our key goals are to maintain our championship level and to build better character amongst our athletes. We aim to create an experience that provides our athletes the opportunity to grow as individuals, gain confidence and learn to work together as a team. As a result, many of our athletes have been accepted and continue to row at their top choice colleges. This year we are expanding our coaching staff and are currently accepting applications for a new Varsity Head Coach. By joining Manhasset's coaching staff, the candidate will join a strong team of 9 other coaches who are dedicated to maintaining and improving the highly competitive nature of the team. Our ideal candidate should have prior experience in a rowing or coxswain capacity at the collegiate level and coaching experience at any level. They should be energetic, a positive role model, and an articulate team player. This person should have excellent communication and organizational skills, strong group management & leadership skills, and be passionate about promoting/building strong skills and culture in our athletes. CPR/First Aid certification is required. The current practice schedule is Monday - Friday after school. There are 10 regattas this season, 3 this summer, and 5 this fall - some of which require overnight travel/stay. If interested please send us a brief cover letter and resume. Pay is very competitive and commensurate with experience. Discretionary bonus eligible.
