We are currently looking for a motivated assistant coach for the spring/summer/fall seasons with potential year-round employment. We have strong winter training programs and opportunities to coach adult rowers year-round. Stipend will be based on availability and experience.
Additional coaching opportunities will be available with the co-located juniors program, for interested candidates.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with the lead coach to:
Communicate to the athletes, implement, and supervise the practice plan with an emphasis on efficiency and safety
Supervise at competitive events as needed
Help with Learn to Row and Novice programs as needed
Be knowledgeable of safety protocols and ensure the safety of rowers and equipment
Attend periodic coaching committee meetings
Ensure all necessary safety equipment is accounted for
Job Type: Contract (Part-time)
Stipend: starting at $55 per practice. Approx 3 - 5 practices per week.
Experience / Requirements:
Have experience rowing at the competitive collegiate / club level
Clear understanding of erging/rowing technique for both sculling and sweep
Ability to communicate and work effectively (explain concepts clearly, be receptive to changing approach, etc)
Prior Masters coaching experience preferred
First Aid / CPR training (or willing to obtain)
