Racing continued throughout the day at #megaworlds today, with the U23 events finishing up their repechage racing, and the Senior events running their first heats of the regatta.
It can be somewhat confusing to get the full view of the regatta via worldrowing.com, as the regatta is listed as three separate events on that site, ie. U23 Worlds, Junior Worlds and Senior Worlds. For a full schedule, see this PDF file.
Racing today was an up-and-down affair for US crews; in the Senior events, the Women's Four Molly Bruggeman, Emily Huelskamp, Coco Schoeller and returning W4- world champ Kristine O'Brien won their heat, while Colin Etheridge in the Light Men's Single and the Coxed Pair of Yohan Rigone, Tom Peszek and coxswain Lou Lombardi qualified for the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.
Another Rio Olympian we missed in our racing preview is Paul O'Donovan, of the Irish LM2x, which captured Irelands first-ever Olympic rowing medal last week; O'Donovan is racing the Light Men's Single here in Rotterdam (and clearly doing well):

#PullLikeADog, indeed.
In the U23 events, four US crews (Lightweight Men's and Women's Singles, Lightweight Men's Four and Men's coxed four) qualified for the next round of racing, while seven crews that raced in today's reps are headed for the lower level semis and finals.
It was a particularly tough day for the USA U23 quads, as all four quads (Men, Women, Light Men and Women) failed to advance out of the rep.
USRowing had a nice view of the day; Rotterdam doesn't look any less busy today!
In case you missed it, Steve McArthur from @rowingcelebration captured what was nearly the perfect quick start by the USA U23 W2x yesterday...except for the start system boot:
As the commenters ask, "how did that work out?" Very well, actually...as we remarked here yesterday, the crew won their heat.
Huge shoutout from their team for the U23 W4x before the reps by the U23 Women, who have been very active on social media this summer; sadly it was not to be, as the crew faded in the reps and will race in the B-Final later this week.
Looking to leap onto the coattails of the GB team's success in Rio, the non-Olympians got their work underway in Rotterdam today.

After racing in what FISA described as "all four seasons" on Sunday, today's weather cooperated nicely.
