2011 Outlook "The Sooners have set an extremely competitive schedule for the 2011 spring season that includes head to head races against Wisconsin, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, UCF, and Indiana. OU will travel to San Diego to face top programs from the Pac-10 at the San Diego Crew Classic. Last season, the varsity eight placed 2nd in the SDCC Cal Cup, which was enough to earn a bid to the prestigious Jessop-Whittier Cup. Other championship regattas include Big 12’s and the Conference USA Championship. In May, OU will travel to Seattle to race against the University of Washington and Cambridge University in the Windermere Cup Regatta. OU graduated only two members from last year’s squad, and eight return from the varsity eight."

2010 Outlook "2009 was the inaugural season for the Oklahoma Sooners. In the first year of varsity competition, the team raced a varsity four and two novice eights. In 2010, the Sooners will field a full squad. This year’s race schedule includes travel to the Longhorn Invitational, San Diego Crew Classic, Alabama, and Tennessee (SIRA’s and South/Centrals). The home schedule kicks off on March 12th with the OU Invitational and concludes with Big 12’s on May 1st. Youth and inexperience may be a factor in the early season, but attitude and a commitment to excellence will carry this group through. These young women understand that it’s more than about the wins and losses in the early years of the program. It’s about setting the bar high and rising to meet every challenge when presented with an opportunity. That’s what will drive this team this spring, and if we can do that, we may surprise some people."
