FIT's MV8 just finished a 1k piece and gets to see the final journey of the space shuttle Discovery atop a 747 carrier as it made its turn north towards Washington, DC where it will go on display at the Udvar-Hazy center.

First event since Sarasota County's Benderson Park has been lengthened to 2,000 meters. Florida women's pair was leading when bow turns to take a look at the orange bouys of the finish just a few strokes ahead. The momentary change in focus apparently causes the rower to catch a crab -- and the boat to get passed.

Dr. Gavin R. White: 34 year head coach of Temple University, former Olympic Coach and National team coach – coached numerous World Championship golds. And, significantly, Mike Teti’s first boss!
Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2005, he continues to inspire all who know him …and know of him. After being helped into the boat by three rowers from Temple’s women’s team, Dr. White raced in the Masters event with grace on Saturday afternoon in the 5 seat of the ‘Fat Turtle’ eight.
