Took this picture on our trip back from Hooch. After stopping for fuel I told the trailer driver we could park and walk across the street to grab lunch. He took this as a challenge. The drive up attendant was speechless. Hindsight, Taco Bell wasn't the best choice with 6 hours left on our drive.

The crew (from stroke) Saasha Bruce, James McNicol, Eachann Bruce and Jamie Bowley. In this attempt, we were unfortunate to catch a crab near the end of the race which starved us of the victory. Iwo Jima Veterans Tribute
Submitted by: Jared Lippman
(November 11, 2011)
A few of the Pittsford Crew Varsity Boys hoisted an oar to honor those who fought at the Battle of Iwo Jima, as well as to mark Pittsford's home course at the Pull the Plug Regatta. The regatta is so named because it is the last race of the season before the Erie Canal is drained for the winter (and the "plug is pulled").

The fairly epic flooding in Torino on Sunday morning, which lead to the cancellation of the Silverskiff (first moved to Saturday, then cancelled outright after 7 flood-related deaths in Genoa on Friday). This was taken at around 11am local time, the water level has risen quite a bit since then.
Holy Cross Blades

After John mentioned my team's new blade design in his write up of the Chase, I thought I'd send this photo for your consideration as a row2k.com "photo of the day." It is of the Holy Cross Rowing Team ca. 1965, rowing in the "original" HC blade design (which we all know is an adaptation of Cornell's design).
UC Davis Armbands
Submitted by: Justin Nool
(November 6, 2011)
I took this photo as the UC Davis V8 got hands on and was about to launch at the Head of the American in Lake Natoma, CA. The weather was perfect that day. The armbands you see on the rowers is an armband dedicated to our coach's mom who recently passed away. I think that this photo represents teamwork, trust, and dedication, knowing that there is a purpose for every day we're out on the water.
