"Pocock fin leaves boat, begins new career as log splitter."
A Pocock fin imbedded in a sodden log, nearly splitting a branch. Came from a 4- rowing after a thunderstorm. Looks reusable!

South Korea in 2013?
Submitted by: Ben Boehm
(June 18, 2009)
Chung Ju, South Korea is bidding to host the 2013 world rowing championships. The rowing club there was kind enough to let me take an old empacher single out for a row today. (I speak almost no Korean, and they spoke very little English. I'm still suprised they trusted a strange foreigner with a boat.)

Christ Church Boat Club boat burning
Submitted by: Peter Paine
(June 8, 2009)
Having waited a good long time for a boat burning, the House seems of late to have acquired rather a taste for the ceremony; the boat having been earlier borne up from the river it was, as darkness fell, taken back out onto the Broad walk before Meadows. There it was burned and leaped in proper style by crews, old members, faculty and friends with great jollity, fittingly rounding-off another chapter in the proud annals of the ChChBC.
