Rowing in Aceh Submitted by: Charley Sullivan (January 5, 2008)
From Margaret Sullivan in Banda Aceh last year after the tsunami: "We were crossing the Aceh river again today and saw the boats coming so got out and got some pictures. There is indeed a scull (looking like it may be locally made and rowed by an orang asli [local]) and three other boats that he is clearly coaching. They came barreling down the river almost to the bridge and I got some not bad images. This one shows two of the three boats. The person with the hat appears to be a girl so let's hear it for women's rowing--she is holding her own with the guys."
