New and updated event information for the 2019 Head of the Schuylkill:
- New Event: High School Novice Coxed Quad; many coaches requested a race for novices to give them safe sculling experiences on a competitive race course. We are happy to provide this opportunity to high school novice rowers in their first months of rowing and possibly their first competition!

- Alumni Events that now include Eights, Mixed Eights, Fours and Quad provide high school and college alumni the opportunity to get teammates together and rekindle the magic! Alumni race Saturday, October 26 and can enjoy a weekend of fun in centrally located Philadelphia! More info at hosr.org or contact [email protected].
- The men's and women's HS JV Eights will be named for John Hartigan, honoring 50+ years of rowing: as an Olympian, World Champion, teammate, mentor, friend and inspiration to many. Vital to HOSR's mission is ensuring that the rowing legends of Boathouse Row and the Schuylkill River are forever visible and continue to have an impact on athletes of all ages. John's story is an inspiration to us and we wish that rowers and their families, may be similarly inspired by his story.
