Rowing Canada Aviron's executive, board, staff and members were saddened to hear of the passing of Peter Brook on June 28, 2012.
Peter was born in England and grew up in Hamilton, Ontario. He learned to row at the Leander Boat Club.
Peter, who served on the RCA board for 12 years, was previously president of the Saskatchewan Rowing Association, and he was the Saskatchewan RCA Board rep up to and including the 2007 Annual General Meeting. In 2008, he became the V.P. Domestic Competition. The portfolio changed to V.P. National Development in 2011, and Peter completed four years on the RCA Executive Committee in January 2012.
"Peter was a big man with a big heart and a big vision for rowing. His contribution was enormous," said RCA President Dr. Michael Murphy. "We will not forget him."
A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Par Place, just outside of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Our thoughts are with Peter's friends and family at this time.
