Dave O'Neill, women's eight coach
"The weather, local organizing committee and race course have all been top-notch and worthy of a world championship regatta. Judging from practices this week, it's clear the competition throughout the weekend will be the same."
Jill Austin, women's lightweight double finished last in Thursday's heat
"It was a pretty humbling experience."
Matt Carey and Rich Klein, men's lightweight quadruple sculls finished last in their heat on Thursday
"We have high hopes for the repechage. We are going to hit the first 500 meters a lot harder and establish a solid start in the first 250. Today, we couldn't really establish a good rhythm. There was a strong gusty crosswind and racing in lane 5 was rough."
James Donovan, men's lightweight double sculls finished second in their heat to qualify for the semifinals
On the heat: "We usually have a fast start, but we caught a little digger in the beginning. At about the 700 meter mark, the stroke of the Norwegian boat looked back and I saw the look in his eye like they were going to fight the whole way. We ended with a good sprint behind France."
Going into the semifinals: "Well, we want a medal. Our focus going into the semifinal is to look better at the start and be more relaxed."
Lindsay Meyer, women's quadruple sculls that won their heat
"It felt like a good, solid row. We were down at the start but kept fighting. It was an exciting race."
Alie Fishman, women's quadruple sculls that won their heat
"We hit a rhythm in the middle. We were rowing a few beats lower, but moving through people. We are ready to go in hard in the final."
Adam Barhamand, men's eight that won their heat
"We are still kind of learning. We want to be faster, but today's race was a good first step. Going into the semifinals, we are looking to improve on our start and make up a second or two in the first 500 meters. The Canadians got off big at the start. We also were missing half a skeg."
Linda Muri, coach of the men's lightweight four that finished second in their heat
"They were happy with the race and able to follow their race plan. The semifinals are going to be harder with more intense competition. After today's race, they will be on the hunt to make it to the A final."
