Rowing Canada Aviron announces the team for the FISA World Rowing Junior Championships in Brandenburg, Germany this August.
"The Canadian Junior Team heading to Brandenburg involves, for the first time in many years, composite crews that are a blend of athletes from the east and the west, as well as the largest women's team in several years," said National Junior Program Coordinator John Ruscitti. "Both of these initiatives are exciting for the Canadian National Junior Program."
Young rowers up to the age of 18 compete in the Junior World Rowing Championships. This is a great opportunity for the rowing stars of tomorrow to experience the pressure and competition of an international world-class event, before entering the world of under-23 and senior competition.
