The lightweight men's double sculls tandem of Andrew Liverman and Rich Montgomery has accepted its berth on the 2007 National Team, USRowing announced on Tuesday. The duo will now compete at the 2007 FISA World Rowing Championships August 26-September 2 in Munich, Germany.
Liverman and Montgomery earned the right to compete on the 2007 National Team by winning the event at USRowing's National Selection Regatta III in early June and then meeting the time standard for the event at the world cup race in Amsterdam in late June. The duo had until July 17 to accept its spot on the team.
Liverman and Montgomery finished 17th overall at the world cup race in Amsterdam. They are scheduled to race this weekend at the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil.
Currently, USRowing has named three senior team boats and four adaptive team boats to the 2007 National Team. The complete team will be selected by August 4.
