Four crews have been selected to represent Canada at the Junior World Championships in Athens, Greece. Crews were chosen based selection regattas and on time trials held in London, Ont. this Sunday.
“A great morning was matched by equally great racing as 15 crews from across Canada gathered at Fanshawe Lake in London for the final stage of qualifying for the 2003 National Junior Team,” said Rowing Canada's National Junior Coordinator, Will Dodds of Victoria, B.C.
The Junior World Championships will be held August 5 to 9, 2003 at the Schinias Olympic Rowing/Canoeing Centre, site of the 2004 Olympic Games regatta.
“These results are a testament to the dedication and commitment by athletes, coaches and their families across the country. We will have these four crews heading to Athens along with 22 other junior athletes heading to Mexico this summer for CanAmMex (July 6-14).”
