From P. John Paulson at Wilmington Rowing Center:
- JPaulson-01: While this was really from Wilmington Rowing Center's annual "Santa Row" benefit for The Mission For Caring, I thought it would work well for Haloween too. Don Krause, Hans Mueller, P. John Paulson and Paul Strzemienski dressed up as the rowing "Grinches that Stole Christmas" and won 2nd prize
From Katherine Mallett at Winsor School:
Here are some photos from Winsor's Double Ewe ("W") in-house regatta. The boats are mixed, often with coxswains rowing in the bow four, so the regatta is a mix of fun and chaos. This year we raced a quad and four eights from Riverside to the Monestary. We got some odd looks from the other crews on the Charles, and laughs from pedestrians, but it was a great time and some fun racing.
- KMallett1-01: Last, but not least, our coaches dressed up as "Things not to do in a boat." From left: Martha Beattie as "Catching a Crab," Nelia Newell as "Shooting your slide," Lisa Stone as "Skying," and Tom Worth as "Check."
- KMallett2-01: the "Boy boat," which is mostly funny because Winsor is an all girls school
- KMallett3-01: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, complete with an evil queen
- KMallett4-01: VERY colorful clown boat, which got many smiles from pedestrians on Weeks and Anderson
- KMallett5-01: Lord of the Rings boat," we especially liked the coxswain Gandalf
- KMallett6-01: coxed quad dressed up as the famous Stone family. From left to right: Lisa (Susanna Shipton), Pheobe (Melissa Johnson), Gregg (Katherine Ernst), Robbie (Katherine Mallett) and Gevvie Stone (Gianna Guarino).
- KMallett7-01: The quad ended up winning, so the next photo is a photo with Lisa herself, our head coach, holding the winners plaque with her family (the quad).
