Alden Rowing Shells announces the develpoment of the new Bruciare 26 Lightweight and Heavyweight Racing Shells. The Bruciare is only 32 lbs. fully rigged and is available in Jet Black Carbon. The Bruciare is between $1000 and $8000 less than most other boats in its class, MSRP $3849. Alden is commited to bringing rowing to the masses with this new boat. All Bruciares are made by hand in the USA.
The Bruciare joins the new Alden Quest as the two latest additions to the Alden family of products. The Alden Quest has been received as the ultimate Touring Shell. Introduced in March 2005 the Quest has rapidly become one of Aldens top selling models. The boat is only 46 lbs. fully rigged and has been a hit with recreational rowers and racers who want to have the ability to extend their time on the water.
This has been an unprecedented year for Alden. The firm has opened new master distributors in New Zealand, Rotterdam, and Australia. Alden continues to offer 15 other models of shells from beginner to advanced in its ever expanding product line. All Alden products are made by hand in North America by professional boat builders. Alden also now custom builds every boat to order. Alden continues to make sure their products are manufactured with integrity by people who are passionate about building. Alden does not, and ever will mass produce boats according to Owner Ed Jarvis.
"We find our customers want high quality, custom hand-built boats, that are made close to home. All of our factories are filled with people passionate about building high quality boats. We don't see the need to mass produce boats, the quality suffers and the boats do not appear to hold up as well over time. We also ensure that our boats are only shipped once, direct to the customer. Importing large quantities of boats from overseas and then redistrubting them is an option we have looked at and it just doesn't make sense for us at Alden. We find most of our customers don't want a boat that has been around the world and is then reshipped. Their is not a personal connection involved in such a process. We want our customers to know that their boat has been treated with TLC from day one."
"Alden is interested in catering to its core group of customers while simulataneously expanding the sport of rowing by introducing our products to the paddlesports community. Alden is not trying to be a rowing company that is all things to all people. We know how to do what we do, extremely well and our growth is evidence of that"
