Ed,
With the success of Daniel Brown's "Boys in the Boat", I believe your readers will enjoy hearing Bob Moch's recollections of his 1936 Olympic final. I tape recorded Bob's story at a luncheon the NRF held on December 2, 2002, in Seattle.
The tape has never been heard before. Fortunately, Gill Perry found the tape only recently in a small leather box Hart had in his basement, and I now have it. I had given it to Hart after the luncheon for safe keeping, and 12 years just slipped by. I suspect this may be the only recording of Bob ( or perhaps any member of that crew ) describing that race first hand.
Here is the link to post on your site. The tape has several other folks speaking of their victories in 1948, 1956, 1960, 1964 and 1984, as well as comments by Stan Pocock, Hart Perry, Dick Erickson, and a member of the 1974 World Championship eight. Over time I hope to snip those out also and present them, too. Pretty historic stuff with gold medalists talking to other gold medalists spanning 48 years.
Hope all is well.
