USRowing will be moving its headquarters from Indianapolis, Ind., to New Jersey in early 2006, the organization announced on Tuesday. The move will consolidate the organization's corporate offices with its National Team Training Center, currently located in Mercer County, New Jersey.
"We have enjoyed our relationship with the Indianapolis community since moving here in 1986," said USRowing President Don Langford. "As our sport has grown and changed during the past two decades, our strategy for continued success necessitates being located in an area that more closely identifies with the sport and provides a stronger platform for the marketing and sponsorship of rowing. We feel that the New Jersey region, where our training center is located, will provide this new platform and bring us closer to our team."
USRowing's Board of Directors unanimously approved the move at its most recent board meeting on Saturday, October 8. The board has assigned Executive Director Glenn Merry to develop a detailed relocation plan and budget. Full details, including the timing of the move, will be announced at a later date.
