9:35am Temple Challenge Cup: Brown University vs Eton College
Another superb American heavyweight rowing program, Brown University defeated the University of the West of England by four lengths on the opening morning to stamp their presence on the Temple Challenge Cup. Their opponents on Thursday will be schoolboys – Eton College’s second eight beat Newcastle University in a thrilling encounter on Wednesday.
10:30am, Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup: St Paul’s School vs Abingdon
We meet the clear favourites for the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup for the first time on Thursday as national champions and domestically unbeaten St. Paul’s, line up against Abingdon, former heavyweights in this division and the last UK crew to complete the elusive 'Triple Crown.' A must-watch for any schoolboy rowing enthusiasts, as one of the finest eights at the Regatta make their Henley debut.
11:40am, Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup: Y Quad Cities Rowing Association vs Glasgow Academy
With the experience of junior world champion Caroline Sharis on board, Y Quad Cities will be looking to kickstart their Henley campaign with a win against Scottish crew, Glasgow Academy. Y Quad Cities tend to be strong when appearing at Henley Royal Regatta, falling in the semi-finals back in 2015 to the eventual winners.
12pm, Thames Challenge Cup Montclair Mounties vs London B
Montclair will line up tomorrow with a crew which features many who raced in the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup last year. Having beaten local crew, Upper Thames R.C, by almost three lengths today, they will look to continue their march in the club eights category against London Rowing Club ‘B’.
2:05pm Temple Challenge Cup: Yale University vs Bath University
Winners of the Varsity Eight category at the IRA National Championships for two years in a row, Yale made a strong start to their Temple Challenge Cup campaign by defeating Temple University. Their opponents on Wednesday, namesakes Temple University, hit the booms so the Bulldogs will be expecting a sterner test when they face Bath University.
2:10pm, Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup: Brunswick School vs Shiplake College
Bronze medalists at the National Schools’ Regatta, Shiplake provide tricky second-day opposition for Henley regulars Brunswick School of New England. On US Independence Day, Brunswick saw off the concerted challenge of Reading Blue Coat School, whilst Shiplake comfortably beat Stowe Sculling Club, who were making their first appearance at Henley Royal Regatta.
2:30pm, Temple Challenge Cup: Orange Coast College vs University of Washington
There were some collective intakes of breath from some of the domestic favourites, as the University of Washington powered their way down the 2112m Henley course. Having travelled all the way from Seattle, the University of Washington got their Henley campaign off to a winning start against the ‘B’ crew from British powerhouse Oxford Brookes University. Meanwhile, their opposition Orange Coast College won their first race at Henley in 16 years against Shrewsbury School. This all-American showdown will be one of the highlights on Thursday.
3:05pm, Temple Challenge Cup: Princeton University vs. University of London A
The most successful lightweight eight from Princeton since 2010, this crew will take to the water for a second time after dispatching Glasgow University on Wednesday. Their opponents, the University of London ‘A’, made the final of the Temple Challenge Cup last year, but have stacked other events in 2018, so expect Princeton to progress.
6:15pm, Visitors Challenge Cup: Columbia University vs Cambridge University and Leander Club
The Visitors Challenge Cup for Intermediate Coxless Fours begins in earnest on Thursday as Colombia University, winners of the lightweight Varsity category at the IRA National Championships, start their campaign against a powerful unit of U23 internationals from Cambridge University and Leander Club.

Northeastern grad and on-and-off GB 8 member Buchanan & N.J. Elkington race Yale grads Hurn & Carnegie.
7:05pm, Temple Challenge Cup: Syracuse University vs Trinity College, Dublin
Syracuse haven’t visited the Regatta in eleven years but returned in impressive style to defeat fellow Americans and upstate New York neighbour Cornell. They face tougher tests on the Thursday, as a powerful unit from Trinity College, Dublin stand between them and a quarter-final berth in the Temple Challenge Cup.
