The Crew Classic is nine parts regatta, one part winter-ending party (of course, your ratios may vary), and there is plenty to do on Crown Point while the crews come down the track on Mission Bay. The party gets underway on Friday night with the pasta party and keeps on past the end of racing on Sunday, and the weather looks, well, classic. Enjoy!
For some traditional carbo-loading, all are welcome at the annual Friday night all-you-can-eat Pasta Party runs from 5-7pm in the Champions Pavilion; tickets are $20 ($5 for children 6 and under) and can be purchased here.
For a different kind of carbs, the Lane Zero Beer Garden Presented by Stone Brewery is open Friday 2-8pm, Saturday 10am-8pm (it's five o'clock somewhere), and Sunday from 10-6. You must be 21 to enter the beer garden.
Finally, the Classic Brunch By The Bay opens Sunday at 7:30am and includes brunch, dessert, tea & coffee, mimosas, bloody marys and non-alcoholic beverages, with seats available by the person or table; read more and purchase tickets or tables here.
If you can't be there, follow along online using the resources posted yesterday, as well as on the Crew Classic's social feeds:
Finally, the 2017 Crew Classic shirts are on sale and now discounted; get yer gear here!
The water ops guys have been at it for some time now and are ready to go, and the rowing season starts tomorrow morning; good luck to everyone who is racing, and if you're not there, start training and planning for next year!
