RACICE 2022 RECAP
Italy were the fastest crew to the 500 meter mark in the final, leading Poland by a deck and Great Britain by half a length. Poland and Great Britain slowly creeped through Italy in the middle thousand to move into the top two spots, with the Dutch trailing closely in fourth. The Poles sprinted to gold at the line, half a length over the British for silver. Italy hung on for the bronze over the Netherlands.

2023 SEASON RECAP
Poland, the defending world champions, returned for 2023 and won close races at both the events they raced: World Cup II and the European Championship. They defeated the Dutch at the Europeans, who would later go on the win at World Cup III. Then there were the Italians and British, both winning silver and bronze medals, with Italy coming out ahead both times between the two crews. Romania, Switzerland, and Australia have also shown A Final speed this year, with Romania coming in third at World Cup III.
USA PROSPECTS
The United States debuts a brand new men's quad in Belgrade, with Dominique Williams and Kevin Cardno returning from the 2022 crew that finished fourteenth in Racice. Joining them are Will Legenzowski and Liam Galloway, both of whom just wrapped up their collegiate careers this spring, with Legenzowski at Brown and Galloway at Yale. The crew should be in the mix to make the B Final in a very fast event, where they will need a top seven finish to qualify the United States for the Paris Olympic Regatta.
MEDAL PICKS
The top four quads of Poland, Netherlands, Italy, and Great Britain should be the likely medalists out of the A Final with Poland a slight favorite, but it should be close for all the medals. Should some of them have an off day, look for Romania, Switzerland, and Australia to knock one or two off the podium.
GOLD – NETHERLANDS
SILVER – POLAND
BRONZE - ITALY
