2019 Outlook - "Our Sharks had a beautiful and sunny Florida winter and we are excited to race this season and to compete for an opportunity to race at the NCAA Championship in our team’s 15th year anniversary. We have several opportunities to race our SSC competitors in the South Region this spring and an opportunity to race many other Division II competitors at the Central Sprints in Oklahoma. We expect Division II racing to be very competitive, continuing from last year’s photo-finish race for medals behind Central Oklahoma, the back to back winner in the Varsity 8+.

"Nova has a rich rowing history since our program began in 2003, including 1 team NCAA Championship in 2013, a 2nd place finish in 2014, and a total of 11 NCAA appearances. In addition, Nova won 6 SSC Championships between 2007 – 2014. This year, we continue one of our long-term team development goals to build a deep and competitive team. We returned and added to a competitive core group of women scholar-athletes that have been working incredibly hard on and off the water and who will compete to represent Nova this Spring."

2018 Outlook - "Our approach to this year is very different than last year. Our training is not going to be nearly as grueling, but it will be more specific and efficient. We are prioritizing the development of power, team inclusiveness, and rowing skill, over everything else.

"In order for us to be successful and return to the NCAA national championship, we need contributions from every single person on our squad from freshmen to the seniors. Last year we improved team depth from the bottom up and we have continued to become a deeper squad this year, which has been one of our long-term goals. With this depth, I believe our Varsity 4 will very competitive this spring. At the Varsity 8 level we will need several people to step up and find answers to hard questions if we want to find more speed than we were capable of last spring. We are on a path towards being faster than ever--the big question is how quickly can we learn and adapt this spring to be competitive at the highest levels of Division II in May."

2017 Outlook - "This year we have really stepped up our training and are putting in meters to be competitive with the top of Division II. Our depth is better than it has been in a long time, with everyone showing an eagerness to work hard and make changes to their rowing stroke. Our mission for the season is to 'Pursue speed on a daily basis by creating an environment of constant daily improvement.'

"Our success this season will rely heavily on the performance and leadership of our seniors in Bethany Warlich, Daesha Roberts, Cassilly Lobaugh, Carlie Morley, and Hannah DiLorenzo. However, several younger athletes will need to step up in a big way to support them if we want to go as fast as I think we can come May."

2016 Outlook - "This year’s group is a great mix of experience and youth, with seven returners from last year’s varsity eight joined by eleven very enthusiastic freshmen and transfers. We had an exciting and productive fall season, highlighted by a second place finish at the Head of the Charles in the Collegiate Four. Our women have put in a solid winter of training so far, and we’re very much looking forward to the start of the racing season to see what kinds of gains we’ve made. We open with scrimmages against last year’s Division III and Division II national champions on back-to-back weekends, and have a good mix of Division I opponents on our schedule as well, so we know we’ll have lots of opportunities to test ourselves on the race course. We hope to earn a spot in Sacramento in May to race for the NCAA Championship."

2015 Outlook - "This year’s Sharks are an ambitious, dedicated and fun-loving group of young women. With a large senior class leading a talented crop of underclassmen, the future of the program is extremely bright. All have done a tremendous job embracing change and hard work this winter as we’ve laid a strong base of physical and technical training for the upcoming season.

We will have lots of opportunities to learn and improve as we prepare for the Sunshine State Conference Championships, Dad Vails, and the NCAA Championships."

2014 Outlook - "The Division II field is growing in strength and depth so we know it will be difficult, but we are looking forward to the challenge of defending our 2013 NCAA National Championship. We return 11 of the 14 student-athletes that competed at NCAA’s and we have a strong freshman class that is motivated to prove themselves. Our goal is not only to repeat as National Champions, but also to improve ourselves and increase our love for rowing every day."
