Comments: All races were floating starts and because of the strong winds, the referees started the race as soon as they could get the crews lined up, which was not always on the starting line. So not all races were 2000 meters. In the Varsity 8 Purdue caught a major crab approximately 750m into the race...at that point they were approximately 2 lengths behind the two front crews which were 1/2 length apart. In teh 2N8 race, Notre Dame caught an over the head crab which essentially dropped them out of the race.
