Crazy Pair Race Submitted by: Dennis Sitek (March 24, 2020)

This is photo of a pair race at the World Veterans Regatta in Poznan, Poland in 2011. The photo shows some crazy steering. The pair in the white shirts, in the apparent lead, appears to have come from the left side of photo (follow oar tracks). The pair in the blue shirts appears to have come from the right side of the photo. I am not. sure how this was possible as the pairs in Lanes 0 and 1 appear to be in their correct lanes. All crews are very close to the finish line. I don't know how this got sorted out, but this is some of the craziest steering ever seen.
There is a wider view photo I have seen, that shows a boat correctly in lane 0 still. It looks to me that the boat that started in lane 2, the blue shirts, had veered into in lane 0 for a while and now is trying to get back in their assigned lane 2. Meanwhile, the crashing white shirt boat has come from lane 3
