Approaching the 25th anniversary of the Southern Sprints, here is an early picture of the race on model B's I believe in the end of the 80's. Probably one of the first races where electronic monitoring on the good ole commodore 64 days. Event looks like a high school race. Only 8 lanes of racing compared to today's events. Casey Baker of Resolute then FIT before is the one in blue to the left, 2nd one in. A young Tom Bohrer is standing in front of the Mel Hi Gym door. The other heavyweight to Tom's right is Mike Connors. The woman in shorts in the front is Billy Kaye Brown (one of the first NWRA Lightweight Championship singles title holders). A Little history.
