Philadelphia, PA - May 29, 2013 — Boathouse Sports and USRowing today presented a check for $25,000 to the Boston Children's Hospital Trust for the Children's Hospital Marathon Fund to aid the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Boathouse Sports and USRowing joined forces back in April to offer custom "Row For Boston" t-shirts and tank tops designed by Radcliffe lightweight crew senior Corinne Wee. Sales of the t-shirts and tank tops took off quickly after all of the six Boston colleges competing in the Beanpot Regatta on April 28th in Boston, MA wore them for the race. The shirts sold out quickly with orders coming in from around the country as a result of an online store Boathouse Sports established for the project.
Corinne Wee, the Radcliffe Lightweight Crew, Beth Kohl of USRowing and Josh Farkes of Boathouse Sports present Tara Tonello of the Boston Children's Hospital with a check for $25,000.
"We're happy that we could something for the people of Boston and help raise funds for a very worthwhile cause," said John Strotbeck, founder/CEO of Boathouse Sports and two-time Olympic rower. Boston has a special place in every rowers heart."
