The full release follows:
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, USRowing is announcing the cancellation of the USRowing Northwest Masters Regional Championships and the USRowing Southeast Masters Regional Championships scheduled for the weekend of June 26-28, 2020.
While we understand that this decision is disappointing to our athletes and masters programs, our first priority is the health and well-being of our athletes, coaches, referees, volunteers, regatta organizers, local organizing committees and our communities at large.
With these cancellations, all USRowing regattas through June 30 (with the exception of the virtual events) have been cancelled.
USRowing is hopeful that our summer racing season can move forward. Currently, the USRowing National Championships scheduled for July 14-19 on the Cooper River in Camden County, N.J., is slated to take place as planned, and we are looking at options for the USRowing Masters National Championships later in the summer. While we can't know for sure when we will be back on the water, we are sensitive to your planning schedule and will be making no-go decisions approximately two months prior to the events. More information will be announced as it becomes available.
