Responding to a surge in the popularity of masters rowing, USRowing has revised its categories and time handicaps to reflect what really happens with boatings and regatta entries. The former age categories, although useful, are being replaced by a more accurate gauge of competitiveness. Clubs are on their honor to boat their crews appropriately. Boats checking in for category H must present copies of their bar bills to the dockmasters for authentication.
