A lot of folks have wondered recently where Margot Zalkind would surface next in her continuing service to rowing, and now we know; Margot has joined WinTech Racing as Director of Communications.
Zalkind has been a familiar presence to thousands of rowers, in person or electronically over the past five years, as the creator National Learn to Row Day, the Masters e-group listserve, the masters e-newsletter, announcer at Masters Nationals Championship, and as a source of information and networking for rowers and rowing organizations. She also has been a very visible volunteer at the Head of the Charles docks and awards stand and C2's live web cam interviewer at CRASH-B's.
Zalkind started rowing in college and organized the Women's masters sweep program at the Potomac Boat Club in 1993. She served as Potomac Race Committee Chair and was a charter member of the Potomac River Safety Committee and chaired the USRowing Masters Committee for several years. She has medalled several times at national events such as HOCR, Masters, Nationals, HOSR and Diamond States.
"We're delighted to have Margot join our staff," said WinTech Racing president Drew Harrison. "Her experience in all aspects of rowing - boats, safety, regattas and special events - and her dedication to serving the sport mesh perfectly with our company's goal - to grow the sport of rowing."
