SUPPORT ROW2K
If you enjoy and rely on row2k, we need your help to be able to keep doing all this. Though row2k sometimes looks like a big, outside-funded operation, it mainly runs on enthusiasm and grit. Help us keep it coming, thank you! Learn more.
im in one of these pictures and im not embarassed at all... i actually hope i win we crashed big deal it wasnt our fault thats what happens in head races
the maroon high school boat was Hawk rowing which I think is Saint Joe's and it was also Riverfront Recapture which was white and green. Who ever took the picture of the coxswain in Charles that is such an awesome photo.
worstwebsiteever where did the number 24 come from? There are no more than 18 people in any of these photos. And relax we all have pictures like these.
The maroon guys in the Schuylkill photos are St Joe's Prep (from what i hear it was their 1V), so that leads me to believe that it was a HS event, unless of course they raced open or something.
The Head of the Schuykill ones (1, 2, and 3) are of Loyola...not GMU. The Charles one is from GMU and Havard...hard hit and some injuries for the guys.
Is it me or is George Mason Univ. men's crew team in 4 of the above pictures at two different regattas? Hopefully the Schuylkill photo's are part of the same incident and not multiple ones. They must have had a hard day.
As far as being in bad taste, I disagree...we learn by our mistakes. If seeing yourself in a photo posted on a page like this is enough to make you quit, then it's unlikely you had it in you to be much of a rower to begin with. I've seen myself in some pretty bad pictures and it only forced me to improve and get better.
At one point in your rowing career you are going to want to see those old photos of you and your former mates going at it. I sure wish Ed was there when I first started racinng 20 years ago. All these pictures now have a great story behind them Sean Wolf rowingillustrated.com
Hate to break it to some folks, but I'm in one of these photos (and no, I won't tell you which one) and I find it JUST FINE. We had a bad day, things didn't go the way that we had hoped and guess what, we got pictured.
I'm not bruised. I'm not broken, I'm still going to row next year. Don't worry about it folks. Great work row2k! Some people take life too seriously.
Chill the ____ out people. If you cannot laugh at yourself then you have no right to laugh at anyone else. We have all been novices and have been very very bad oarsmen. I highly doubt anyone will stop rowing because there is a picture of them posted, and i doubt many junior novices know about AND check row2k. All of this is done in jest and i think all of us can pull up a picture of ourselves that would fit in here. Get over it and just vote. Row2k i support you in this fully.
I will never ever ever donate to this website again. What the hell are you thinking row2k? Lets discourage 24 guys from ever rowing again because now one of they are humiliated on one of the only websites rowers care to look at? Great job. Take this down you arrogant _____.
Pictures of crabs and oar clashes....fine. But to incude pics of fall high school novices in the Gnarliest Photo poll shows extremely poor judgement and bad taste. I sure hope they don't see themselves here. If they're lucky, someone at row2k with a CLUE will submit some new pictures.
