We spend quite a bit of time on start docks throughout the year and see bad conditions all the time, but rarely have we seen such a rapid deterioration in racing conditions as we saw at this year's Pac-12 Championships. The regatta was already under a flipped and compressed racing schedule to try and beat an incoming storm, but only the first few races were run before things fell apart. In the time between the third race, the MV8+, and the fourth, the W2V8+, the lake went from flat and calm to a white-capping headwind with heavy rain. The women's 2V got the brunt of the worst conditions but all the rest of the races were impacted. Here's Stanford's 2V during their start.
