The 2007 Pacific-10 Conference Rowing Championships (48th annual for men, 21st annual for women) will be held on Sunday, May 13, at the CSUS Aquatic Center in Gold River, Calif. The Pacific Coast Rowing Championships will take place on Saturday, May 12.

TICKETS: Admission to the 2007 Pacific-10 Conference Rowing Championship is $5 per person per day. Parking for the event is $7 per day and a free parking lot with shuttle service is also avaliable. THE SCHEDULE: Sunday, May 13. Morning races being at 8 a.m. on Sunday with the first heat of the Women's Varsity Four competition and run through approximately 10 a.m. The afternoon finals begin at approximately 2 p.m. A complete schedule will be released and posted to www.pac-10.org and row2k.com on Wednesday, May 9 once seeding have been finalized.

THE COMPEITIORS: Rowing teams from seven Pac-10 institutions including CALIFORNIA, OREGON STATE, STANFORD, UCLA, USC, WASHINGTON and WASHINGTON STATE along with other West Coast institutions (UC Davis, Sacramento State, Sonoma State, San Diego State, Saint Mary's and Gonzaga) will all compete.

ROWING TRADITION : The California men captured their 13th Pac-10 title and the eighth in nine years, while the defending Pac-10 Champion California women won their third consecutive Conference crown at the 2006 Pacific-10 Conference Rowing Championships at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. UCLA won the women's crown in 1990 and 1991, while California and Washington have maintained a stronghold on the men's and women's trophy since the early 90s.

SCORING: The Pacific-10 Conference Men's and Women's Rowng Champions are determined by the order of finish of the Pac-10 crews in the following events: Men's Varsity Eight, Men's Second Varsity Eight, Men's Freshman/Novice Eight, Men's Varsity Four, Women's Varsity Eight, Women's Second Eight, Women's Novice Eight and Women's Varsity Four. The scoring system is as follow:

NATIONAL RANKINGS: The latest U.S. Rowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll (May 2, 2007) has six Pac-10 women's teams listed among the top 20 -- No. 1 USC, No. 8 CALIFORNIA, No. 10 UCLA, No. 16 WASHINGTON, No. 18 STANFORD and No. 20 OREGON STATE. On the men's side, four teams are ranked in the Top-20 -- No. 1 WASHINGTON, No. 2 CALIFORNIA, No. 5 STANFORD and No. 19t OREGON STATE.

CONFERENCE HONORS: The Pac-10 All-Conference teams for men's and women's rowing will be named approximately one week after the completion of the national championships.

NATIONAL COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONSHIPS: The 11th Annual NCAA Women's Rowing Championships will be held May 25-27 at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. CALIFORNIA won the national title in 2006. The 2002 NCAA runner-up, WASHINGTON, has won three national titles (1997, 1998, 2001). California finished fourth in 2004, while Washington placed fifth and WASHINGTON STATE came in ninth. The Men's Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships will take place May 31-June 1 at Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.
