We are excited to announce the launch of a new non-profit rowing club on the Roanoke River in Washington County, Plymouth, NC. Our mission is to provide rowing opportunities for youth, adults, and veterans in a predominantly African-American, economically disadvantaged area.
As a 501(C)(3) organization, we are currently seeking donations of gently used (i.e., not requiring extensive or major repairs) rowing equipment and auxiliary equipment to help us get started. This will allow us to offer rowing programs for junior rowers, masters rowers, and veteran rowers.
Here's a list of specific items we are currently seeking:
* Rowing shells: singles, doubles, quads, and eights
* Oars
* Seats
* Coaching launch with motor
* Life jackets
* Megaphone
* Cox boxes and speakers
* Slings
* Foot stretchers
* Rowing shoes (all sizes)
* Riggers
* Boat trailer
* Learn-to-row barge
* Indoor rowing machines (Ergs)
Any donation of equipment or financial support would be greatly appreciated. Your contribution will help us provide a unique and rewarding athletic opportunity for the youth and adults in our community, fostering a culture of health, perseverance, and teamwork on the beautiful Roanoke River. We are also interested in learning about grant opportunities to support our mission.
