Quick pre-Worlds update:
Heats, indeed: it looks like a tailwind, and a hot one for the first day of heats on Sunday - brisk tail, 90+ degree temps.
Overheard at the course (not sure which country, not US tho): "Everything you do, you have to do fast. You go to breakfast, you go fast. You get on the shuttle, you go fast. You go to the..." and I was out of earshot.
Rowing in America remains a sport of walk-ons, at least in the men's ranks. I'll try to do a tally this week, but we counted at least 10 in the US men's Olympic class boats.
We've updated the US team roster.
