Piano recital May 18,2025 Two sisters both play piano (a coxn and a rower) and were given an assignment to compose a piece, and without knowing, they both chose to do it about "what a 2k feels like", so the teacher suggested they write and perform it as a duet. As a rower and coxswain, this is our interpretation of a 2K (2000 meter) race. Emmy is the coxswain or "brain" of the boat and directs Audrey, the rower or "body" throughout the race. The piece begins before the race by rowing up to the stake boats (starting line). When the race begins, there is a start sequence that transitions into the body of the race. There are subtle shifts as the race progresses and boats overtake and fight one another. The end of the race transitions into a sprint, the fastest and most brutal stretch before the mental and physical relief of finally crossing the finish line.
