2021 Outlook - "We’re on campus, we’re practicing, and we’re planning to race. Syracuse University has done an outstanding job of creating as safe an environment as possible given the reality of the current situation. We were able to practice effectively in the fall semester while adhering to all health and safety guidelines, which gave us confidence that it was possible to run a competitive training plan and still keep the team, staff, and surrounding community safe.

"This spring, the team will continue to follow all COVID protocols as we work to schedule some spring races with other teams around the league. We’ve got some dates on the calendar for a few round-robin weekends of dual racing, which will potentially allow us to race more often while traveling less than in a typical spring season. Sprints and IRAs are still a target for end-of-May championship season, but we’ll wait to hear the final verdict on those until we get further along in the spring. No matter what, the squad that has assembled here in Syracuse is eager to train and improve themselves daily, and will be ready to compete whenever the flag drops!"

2020 Outlook - "Every year is a new year and with it brings new challenges. We graduated a talented senior class last year, but we’ve got a great group of young athletes this year with lots of promise. This year’s upperclassmen will be working hard to instill their leadership and stamp their mark on the program. Some familiar faces on the schedule this year, with races against Wisconsin, Cornell, Navy, BU, and Dartmouth in April. All of our regular-season opponents will be tough tests as we prepare for Sprints and IRAs in May."

2019 Outlook - "The IRA gets more and more competitive every year. We’ll need to keep upping our game if we want to improve upon last year’s finishes, both at the V8 level and across the whole team. There’s a nice mix of talent and leadership across all class years. We’ve got the wily veterans in the senior class, some serious workhorses in the juniors and sophomores, and several promising upstarts in the frosh. Our racing schedule sends us on the road almost every race this spring, and lines us up against top-15 teams each time. Luckily, Syracuse oarsmen love to race hard every weekend. The Orange are always up for a challenge!"

2018 Outlook - "The squad continues to build off a successful end to the 2017 season with solid work ethic both on and off the water. This fall showed we are in the mix with a tight group of teams and has provided a sense of urgency to keep pushing each other through winter training. The depth of the team has improved as the upperclassmen have lead and challenged the younger student-athletes to realize the high standard of our league. We look forward to the challenge of our four cup races beginning in April as we build for Sprints and IRAs. Go Orange!"

2018 Outlook - "Syracuse continues to climb the national rankings. With back to back 13th place finishes at the NCAAs, and their first ACC Championship (2V8+), the Orangewomen enter the season looking to continue their climb into the national top-10. Early results at the Head of the Charles - 5th in the Club 8+; 4th in the Champ 4+; and 10th/5th college in the Champ 8+ - point in that direction. Led by 12 strongly committed seniors, all boats enjoy senior leadership and the enthusiasm of our younger classes. With two seniors racing in the varsity 8+ this fall, and one of the best recruiting classes in the history of the program signed in November, the future looks bright as well."

2017 Outlook - "Syracuse Women’s Rowing is coming of its best finish in more than a decade. In 2016, the team tied for 2nd at the ACC Championships and finished 13th at the NCAAs. The varsity 8+ finished 12th at the NCAAs. The team returns all but two athletes from the first varsity 8+ and all but three from the 2V8+. With an infusion of a 14 athlete freshwoman class, inter-squad competition has been intense and the prospects for a fast spring are high."

2015 Outlook - "The Syracuse Women's Rowing continues to improve its speed and national ranking. 2015 marks the first year of the New ACC Conference, with Syracuse, Louisville and Notre Dame joining traditional powers U.V.A., Clemson and Duke in the conference. Building on their consistent top 20 ranking in 2014, the Syracuse women had their most successful fall season in the history of the program. The team pulled off a rare double gold medal at the head of the Charles, winning the collegiate division of both the Women's Champ 4+ and the Women's Champ 2X. The women then transferred this speed into the 8+, finishing third at the Princeton Chase, behind Brown and UVA, and ahead of traditional rowing powers Yale and Princeton.

"Syracuse graduated only three athletes from their varsity 8+. The team added 14 women in the class of 2018 and further strengthened their team with transfers Kari Tomeny and Deirdre Fitzpatrick. The team will also benefit from the great hard work many of the women put in this summer. Sophomore Emily Carey rowed in the 2 seat of the Australian U23 8+ at the World Champs. Jr. Kari Tomeny won both the Women's U23 4X and 2X at Canadian Henley with the US Women's Pre-elite program. Senior Amy Ludovicci trained with the Craftsbury Elite Sculling Program, and Senior Georgia Hamilton trialed with the Canadian U23 team. This combined experience has help raise not only the technical level of the athletes, but also their expectations for racing. We are very much looking forward to racing in 2015."

2014 Outlook - "The Syracuse women's rowing team has added their third, and best, recruited class since the fall of 2010. This group of athletes, along with a senior class who fully understands the training and racing expectations of the program, should help Syracuse continue to rise in the national ranks of women's rowing. The team broke into the nations top 20 in May of 2013, thanks to two recruited classes and three years of training. This upward trend looks to continue. In fall racing, the Orange bettered Harvard at the Head of the Genesee in both the varsity 4+ and 8+. The Orange also performed extremely well in the inaugural Small Boats Challenge on Lake Mercer. S.U. was the only school to place boats in the A final of 1X, 2- and 2X event. Senior Rebecca Soja won the women's single and the pair of Amy Ludovici and Miranda Williams were 2nd in the 2-. The Orange closed their fall season at the Foot of the Charles. Breaking their top 16 athletes into four 4+s, S.U. finished 1st, 3rd, 6th and 7th in the 35 boat field. Syracuse opens it's spring racing season in Clemson, S.C. on Mach 15th."
