2020 Outlook - "The 2020 season will be exciting and a bit unpredictable for our program. The outgoing senior group has become a tremendous force and we look to utilize their strengths to lead the team in all events. The bulk of the racing group is new to the sport of rowing and will be racing for their 1st or 2nd racing season, ever. This is a building year for K-State Rowing and we look to lay the foundations necessary to compete and establish the experience required to remain competitive next year. The K-State Athletic facilities and support services set the bar incredibly high and have enabled our athletes to compete at such a high level. We look forward to racing on both coasts and tackling a new Big 12 Championship site in Texas. This season, like every other season for the last 17 years, will be fueled by midwestern athletes who have learned to row at K-State, in Manhattan, KS. We continue to recruit athletes who are willing to work hard and learn something new."

2019 Outlook - “The 2019 Season will be interesting for our program because we have a large and high performing senior class. The leadership and focus from our seniors is apparent, and it has already positively influenced team wide performance in fall training and at winter training camp. We also will be racing some true freshman which is exciting for the program because it indicates an uptick in rowing interest from athletes with higher initial athletic ability. The improvement in our K-State rowing facilities has influenced fitness and strength in a major way which should be evident in racing. This season should be the product of experienced and motivated racers who are ready to show off what a homegrown team can do. We are looking forward to racing season with this team.”

2017 Outlook - "The 2017 Season will be a learning season for our young racing squad. This group boasts some strong reliable athletes, who are relatively new to competition. The team is tougher than it’s ever been and we hope to use that momentum to continue the programs growth. Being a team made up of almost entirely multi-sport athletes with no previous rowing experience before college, we teach our athletes how to apply their athleticism to a new sport and then we expect them to work hard and fight to earn their way up in our program every single day. This racing season, and every single day of training, are opportunities for our athletes to illustrate what it means to be part of the K-State Rowing Family."

Relying almost entirely on athletes that learn the sport for the first time here on our team, we emphasize the necessity of work ethic in our recruits. Hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard."
