2018 Outlook - "Overcoming an unusually large change in personnel from one year to the next will be the challenge for the 2018 Gaels and coaching staff. We would have liked to build on last year's lightweight 8 but it looks as though we will have to wait at least one year before we can show up again with one to Dad Vail. For now, each rower is expected to put in more work than they think is required and to be the reason that their boat is fast and not wait for someone else to do it. At Iona we don't shy from adversity, we embrace it. Our school's motto is Certa Bonum Certamen; Fight the Good Fight, and that we will."

2017 Outlook - "This spring we are fielding a team of over thirty student athletes, easily our largest group in years. Last year's freshmen and sophomores have all returned and have emerged as strong leaders in the boathouse helping guide our new freshmen. The team is still tremendously young and raw which means there will be growing pains but at the same time there, is a performance expectation set by them and the coaches. We won't graduate a single person on this team until 2018 giving us the luxury of rowing a lot of miles together over the next few years. I'm excited to help these guys realize their potential and witness them getting faster together."

2016 Outlook - "Much like 2015, this year is about building experience for our young group. Most of the guys are freshman walk-on's. There is an opportunity to build the future of our program around this class so long as they are willing to be patient and continue to put in hard work. Our young squad will be tested against other freshman crews as well as race up against varsity competition. This year we celebrate 70 years of Iona Men's Rowing."

2019 Outlook - "While the program undergoes a coaching transition, the Lady Gaels have been putting in very good work this winter and I’m excited to watch them continue to develop over the course of the spring. In a few weeks we head down to Oak Ridge, TN for spring break which which will enable the team to hit the ground running when we return to New York for our season opener. We have aspirations of reaching the podium this year at the Metropolitan Championships in the Varsity 8."
