Head Coach - Todd Kennett, 13th year
2020 Finish
Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - N/A
2021 Seniors - 9
2021 Outlook - "We have a solid senior class, led by several guys who have been very colorful in their entire career by competing for seats in the varsity and 2V boats. COVID-19 has certainly put a terrible stop to our ability to show our speed and development. We were excited to have a season this year, and maybe there still will be one, but that is not looking very promising. If no season occurs our seniors have been stoic in their day to day lives, to keep working to the best of their abilities, so that the entire team has a positive attitude and model to follow. Like the rest of the world, we hope that as many people as possible stay safe, and that we can return to normal asap."

Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - 3

2020 Outlook - "We graduated a talented class last year, and this year we have another large senior class. This is their year, and they will have to rise to the occasion and fill the vacated seats for the spring season. There are a number of underclass members who are making very positive contributions to the speed of the group. It will be fun pulling it all together for the spring season!"

Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - 7
2019 Seniors - 9
2019 Outlook - "A strong senior class is leading the team forward this year to accomplish more. With several members having been part of U23 teams, they are making some good boat speed and should make the spring season very exciting. Look forward to matching up with the league."
-Head Coach Todd Kennett
Head Coach - Todd Kennett, 10th year

- 3rd Varsity 8 - 9th at Sprints, 11th at IRAs
Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - 7
2018 Seniors - 5
2018 Outlook - "This team is coming together in a very good way. Three guys were on the U23 8+ for USA, and they are helping to spur the team along now. We had a more encouraging result at the HOC this fall, and the team is working hard. Despite a small senior class we have a large number of returning varsity boat members and they are making the most of the opportunity. I am looking forward to seeing what this group can do on race day."
-Head Coach Todd Kennett
Head Coach - Todd Kennett, 9th year
2016 Finish

Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - 3
2017 Seniors - 12
2017 Outlook - "We graduated a very large and talented class last year (15). This year is a rebuilding year but the team is delivering. Our depth is very good Thanks to great Sophomore and Freshman classes who seems to be mixing it up with the upper two classes constantly. As the team gains confidence in each other and pushes together good things are happening and we look forward to what we can deliver on the race courses this spring."
-Head Coach Todd Kennett
Head Coach - Todd Kennett, 8th year
2015 Finish
- Varsity 8 - 10th at Sprints, 10th at IRAs

- 4th Varsity 8 - Sprints Champs
Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - 7
2016 Seniors - 13
2016 Outlook - "As the team continues to develop into its own, and with strong leadership from the Senior Class, the Big Red is looking forward to the spring racing season. With an always competitive Eastern Sprints league, the regular season will no doubt prepare us for our championship races. With the vast majority of athletes returning from the 2V-4V, a solid freshmen class, and building off of a strong finish at The Chase, the spring should include some great racing for the BIG RED."
-Head Coach Todd Kennett
Head Coach - Todd Kennett, 7th year
2014 Finish
- Varsity 8 - 7th at Sprints (grand finalist), 8th at IRAs
- 2nd Varsity 8 - 7th at Sprints, 9th at IRAs
- 3rd Varsity 8 - 7th at IRAs
- Freshmen 8 - 3rd at Sprints, 6th at IRAs
Returning Varsity 8+ Athletes - 9
2015 Seniors - 12
2015 Outlook - "This spring will be a good test for Cornell heavyweight men. The entire varsity boat returns, most of the JV and 3V. Bolstered by a solid group of freshman the boats are moving well so far. There will be a fair amount of sorting, and some chemistry to be figured out, but times are showing one of the fastest groups in recent years. The junior class has a huge amount of speed in it, with two of the members having U23 medals, and another two who have raced U23 trials. The senior class is large and providing the leadership needed to help keep the crew on track and task. The Freshman and Sophomore classes are both providing some serious depth to the whole team. Should make for some fun racing this spring!"

Our seniors have been great leaders and mentors to our freshman and are working hard to ensure they leave a strong legacy and a lasting mark on our boathouse. 2019 Outlook - "A new era has begun for Cornell Women’s Rowing with a new staff and a new outlook on life and sport. The team has worked very hard since their start in late August to move better on the water, make big physiological gains and train with a far more balanced mindset. PR’s have been abundant this year and the team is coming off a great winter break training trip down south. They are spirited and ready for a good, hard winter season in the tanks, on the ergs and the RP3’s. The Ivy league is the most demanding academic and athletic conference in the country and this will provide the back drop for what will be undoubtedly a very exciting spring season. For now…we get back to work."

2018 Outlook - "It is has been a tremendous pleasure to have had the opportunity to work alongside the Director of Rowing, Todd Kennett and the Head Lightweight Men’s coach, Chris Kerber at Cornell over the past 5 months. They have provided the athletes and coaches of the Women’s team a standard in terms of work ethic and excellence to strive for on a daily basis. It is an exciting statement that there is a hunger within the squad to take a step forward this season and ensure that every crew is prepared to fight to the line no matter the gap that may exist between us and the opposition. However actions speak louder than words and the challenge this spring will be to turn this statement and vision into reality. Alongside our Lead of Recruiting, Steph Chivers, our Lead of Development, Paula Thoms, and volunteer coaches Theresa Alessio and Julian Shull Bowling I am committed to helping every member of this squad take another step towards becoming the best version of themselves while at Cornell. The Ivy League has always been one of the top conferences in the country and 2018 is shaping up to be another banner year. The challenge of racing against extremely consistent and dominant programs is significant but will be met head on by Pushing, Deciding and Respecting every day."

2017 Outlook - "Coming off an extremely productive winter training trip in Orlando, FL, the team is young, energetic, and driven. With leadership from the junior and senior classes, the tone was set from the start of the fall, and the athletes are on a mission to make progress every day. We will head to Florida again in a few weeks for a long weekend on the water, and continue to put in meters on the RP3s/ergs, pound the pavement and stadium steps, and more each day here in Ithaca as we drive towards the spring. We are looking forward to another challenging race schedule against fast Ivy League and out of conference competition, and will be looking to test our own speed and preparation with each outing. Our goal is simple- go as fast as we can each weekend, especially come May!"

2016 Outlook - "The Cornell Women just returned from a very productive winter training camp in Florida, and are eager to get to work in Ithaca to start the spring semester. We have a large and deep team this year, led by a strong, motivated and tight senior class. There are a number of younger athletes stepping up and challenging for seats in the top boats, many of whom benefited from our trip to Henley Women’s Regatta this past summer, and every day will be competitive! Once again, we have an aggressive race schedule against tough Ivy League competition and out of conference racing, all of which will prepare us well for Ivy League Championships in May. We are excited for the racing to begin!"

We have an aggressive race schedule against tough Ivy League competition and out of conference racing, including hosting 8 teams here in Ithaca and the Clemson Invite, all of which will prepare us well for Ivy League Championships in May. We are returning 7 of 9 from last year’s Varsity 8, led by U-23 Women’s Eight Gold Medalist Kate Roach, and there are a number of younger athletes stepping up and challenging for seats in the top boats- making things fun and interesting! 2014 Outlook - "Look out for the Big Red in 2014! We’ve got a great group of underclassmen who are pushing the team forward and continuing to raise the bar. We have just come off of an excellent winter training trip in Florida and the rowers are attacking indoor training with great intensity. Racing in one of the most competitive leagues in the country will challenge us each weekend and will hopefully result in a third consecutive invitation to NCAA’s. We are excited to see what the spring brings! Go Big Red!"
