Distance: 1700m Conditions: Moderate following current and winds varying from 5-16 mph, head to a tailwind. I little bit of everything.
In the B1 and B2 races, we had a gusty headwind during the first 500m and then again at the 800m mark. The wind died down for the beginning of the third boat race. Comments: A huge thank you to Salisbury for coming to kent to race. It was a great day of racing with some close races. Note: the second boat started about 75 meters downstream of the start. The third boat actually raced in fours. In the third boat, we raced in fours. The first 500m of the race was a great race by mostly novice rowers and fairly tight until Kent caught a crab and Salisbury moved ahead by open water. kent regained its composure and started to gain ground on Salisbury when Kent once again caught a couple more crabs and Salisbury, rowing strong, put the race away for good.
