Conditions: Beautiful sunny day. Temp ranged from 56 to 67. Slight head wind (2 to 6 mph. Racing against the current (flow at start 41,688 cubic ft per second dropping to 20,960 after noon) Races were against the current.
We used a floating start with coaches from the participating programs taking turns as starter. This undoubtedly caused some variation in the actual length of the course. The 1st Novice Boys 8and the 1st Girls Varsity 8 were rowed as flights. Boys-McCallie A/B and Atlana A made up the first flight. Girls first flight was composed of Atlanta A, Atomic, and East Tennessee Rowing.
