Distance: 1500 Meters
Conditions: Rowed with a 10-15 mph tailwind, but against an incoming tide. Slight chop for the most part. Conditions improved in the second half of the regatta.
Comments: This event was scheduled to be at Mt. Hermon, MA, but the flooding of the Connecticut River prompted the crews to move to Providence. Girls Varsity race was punctuated by a huge powerboat wake 6-8 strokes from the finish. Bay View was clearly in the lead as both crews were makng their final sprint. Bay View was slammed first and then Tabor. Bay View took the hit without major incident, but did take on lots of water. Tabor's rower at six lost her seat. Coaches following the race as officials felt that this did not effect the order of finish.
