Conditions: 13 miles. Course started with 2 miles out of Richardson Bay to the North Tower of the Golden Gate Bridge. Down the swells with a 12 knot tailwind to Angel Island. Relatively flat around the east side of Angel Island. Back into the wind through Raccoon Straits, cross chop between Belvedere and Cone Rock. Cross chop back to the finish in Sausalito.
Comments: Robert Meenk and Diane Davis both led their races from the start and rowed beautifully to win. The battle for third in the Men's Single was epic with 3rd through 5th places finishing with 15 seconds of each other after 1 hour, 44 minutes. The Men's 2x was ably led by Steve Tucker and Aleks Zosuls again with the Graves brothers flipping in the early race and then reeling in Jacobs/Peterson but unable to catch Tucker & Zosuls. There were a great many more entrants and categories (2 courses, length, age and gender categories) but I only have the time and patience to submit these five categories. Everyone who made it around either course is to be admired as the conditions were rough.
