Conditions: Varsity 8: bit of head current
2nd Varsity 8 and Freshman 8: slight tail current
All races: moderate head wind, decreasing toward the finish line
Comments: This was originally scheduled as the Wit Cup Regatta between Columnbia and Rutgers, with Navy rowing as a guest. When the Rutgers lightweight program was suspended following last spring's budget cuts, the Wit Cup was put in abeyance. Thus, today's rowing was a non-cup regatta between Columbia and Navy.
The Varsity 8 race was delayed 30 minutes after the Columbia boat suffered an equipment breakage during pre-race warmups. The race was delayed while Columbia's varsity transferred to the Columbia Freshman boat.
