Distance: 1,500 meters
Conditions: Steady moderate tailwind with occasional stronger gusts and a slight cross component; light chop; no current. 60 degrees and partly cloudy. Conditions were similar for both races.
Comments: *In the 2nd/3rd boat race, Berkshire caught a small crab from which it recovered and then a large, over-the-head, boat-stopping crab from which it took a long time to recover. When the crab occured at the 800 meter mark, the Pomfret 2nd boat had over a length of open water and the Pomfret 3rd boat was level with the Berkshire boat.
