Conditions: Strong, gusty headwind, slightly quartering from port, with whitecaps throughout the afternoon.
Comments: Several races, especially lower boat races, were started approximately 50 M over the starting line for safety - to avoid beaching shells. Good, close racing in the varsity events, despite the conditions. Taft's 2nd boat was down a man and scratched. Gunnery took home the Highlanders-Saints Cup with Canterbury; Berkshire won the Smith Cup for the first time since 1999 in an extremely close boys' first boat race.
