Conditions: Course Distance: 4,500 m
Conditions: Mild tail wind for the first 2000 meters changing to a blustery cross-tail wind for the second half of the course: 10-15 mph winds. Water conditions for the first 1500 meters were relatively calm but with a fast current; water surface becoming more agitated further down the course. Last 1000 meters had intermittent white caps. Current was extremely fast for the whole course resulting in some very fast times. Conditions improved throughout the afternoon, which would have effected the times positively.
Comments: "A" freshmen and varsity 8s, both boys and girls, raced the 4,500 meters head-to-head. Water at the start was fairly protected by Freeman's Bridge allowing for easy alignment. All other boats were raced in a conventional head race format.
