Conditions: Beautiful day. Temp. 56 to 67. Slight headwind building fom 2 mph to 6 mph. Flow was over 41,000 cubic feet per second for first several races dropping to 20,000 after noon. Novice 8 @ 10:15. V4 @ 10:45. Novice 4 @ 12:00. Varsity 8 @ 1:15. Races were against the current.
We used a floating start with coaches from the participating programs taking turns as starter. This undoubtedly caused some variation in the actual length of the course. The 1st Novice Boys 8and the 1st Girls Varsity 8 were rowed as flights. Boys-McCallie A/B and Atlana A made up the first flight. Girls first flight was composed of Atlanta A, Atomic, and East Tennessee Rowing.
