Distance: 1500 meters
Conditions: Conditions changed throughout the day. Cross headwind for some races, cross tailwind for others. Very little chop and generally good conditions for racing. Thunderstorms rolled in just as crews were getting off the water.
Comments: In the Boys 1st boat race, with about 500 meters to go Brunswick steered into Kent's lane, and Kent steered into Salisbury's lane. Kent lodged a formal protest on the water and referees determined that though an infraction was in fact committed in their opinion it would be difficult to tell whether the results would have been different without the steering issues. Thunder storms had begun to roll in so a re-row was not possible. No time was taken for the Simsbury first boat as in the other confusion the flag did not fall. They were approximately 2 seats or a deck behind Salisbury, they were in an outside lane and were not effected by the steering issues.
