Distance: 1500m
Conditions: 60F, light to moderate rain, with light tailwind. While the rain varied from race to race, the tailwind was reasonably constant. Floating start races that started either on the line or very close to it.
Comments: Conditions were even across all lanes, and all of crews raced effectively. In the boys' 2nd eight, Exeter had an oarsman ejected from the shell as a result of a crab in the last strokes of the race. In the boys' 6th eight, there was a restart after a seat came off the tracks. The race was closer than the results show, as an Exeter oarsman lost a seat with 250m to go, at which point the margin was still fairly close.
Thank you to all of the Deerfield and Exeter athletes and coaches for a great day of racing. By winning a total of four of eight boys' and girls' scored events (1st through 4th boys' and 1st through 4th girls'races) St. Paul's wins the Davis Cup for competition with Exeter.
